Privacy at the press
How a small Jerusalem letterpress atelier handles names, addresses, ketubah wording, and a single cookie on this site.

Who holds the file
The atelier processes what a printer must process: names to set in type, delivery addresses, telephone numbers, and the text of documents you ask us to print. We are not a credit bureau, not a clinic, and not a publisher of other people’s manuscripts.
Where a commission involves a person in the European Economic Area, we treat the same information with equivalent care: only what the job requires, kept only as long as the job and ordinary bookkeeping require. We do not buy mailing lists. We do not run advertising pixels. We do not ask for identity-card scans unless a courier or a legal requirement for a particular shipment makes it unavoidable, and then only for that shipment.
Commission manuscripts
Wording entrusted to the stone
A commission file may contain identity and contact details you send by email, telephone, or the form on this site: name, email, phone, and a postal address for proofs or finished sheets. It will also contain the manuscript itself — stationery lines, broadside verse, book-plate mottos, and ketubah clauses, including names of couples, parents, and witnesses when those names are to be printed.
Practical notes travel with the copy: quantity, paper choice, ceremony dates, and collection or courier instructions. Invoices and receipts required for Israeli tax bookkeeping sit beside the job, not in a marketing database.
Ketubah wording is used solely to print the sheet you commissioned. We do not publish it, exhibit it, or reuse names in sample work without a separate written permission. Standing type for a repeat stationery job is kept in the case only with your knowledge; otherwise the form is distributed after the run. We do not upload commission files to public galleries.
This site is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly take commission details from a child. A parent or guardian should write if a family stationery job involves a minor’s name on a card.
Cookies
A single preference, nothing else
This is a static site. The centred notice asks whether you will allow the browser to remember that you have seen it. If you choose Accept, a local preference named for this studio is stored so the card stays away on later visits. If you choose Not now or close the card, the overlay hides for that visit only.
The preference is not a tracking profile. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded by these pages. We do not drop advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-network tags. Closing the card does not require an account and does not enroll you in a list.
If our tools change — for example if we add a hosted form that actually transmits — we will revise this notice and the date on the contact section. The character of the studio will not: we remain a letterpress atelier on Bezalel Street, not a data business.

The law we work under
We process personal data in Israel under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981, and the regulations issued under it, including the duties that apply after Amendment 13 concerning databases, security, and the rights of data subjects.
Under that law you may request access to personal information we hold about you, and correction of information that is wrong. You may object to use that is not required for a job you still want printed. To exercise these rights, write to studio@jlmpress.pro or visit the atelier during open hours with enough detail for us to find the file — the name on the commission and an approximate date.
You may also contact the Privacy Protection Authority at the Israel Ministry of Justice if you believe the law has not been respected. We would rather correct a name on a proof than receive a complaint after the edition is dry.
Retention of press files
How long paper and mail remain
Paper proofs and marked-up copy stay in the atelier until the edition is collected or posted, then are destroyed or returned if you ask. Digital mail lives in the studio mailbox at studio@jlmpress.pro. Active job files remain until the sheets are delivered and any obvious correction window has passed.
Invoices and the minimum records attached to them are kept for the periods required under Israeli bookkeeping rules. Sample sheets that do not show private names may be retained as press records. You may ask us to destroy extra copies of a personal document once the job is closed.
If a courier carries a parcel, they receive the name, address, and telephone number needed for that delivery — nothing of the ketubah text. Personal information is used to compose type accurately, to send proofs, to deliver editions, to invoice, and to answer questions about a job in progress. It is not used to build an audience.
