Privacy at the press

Jerusalem Letterpress (Company No. 515772019), 11 Bezalel Street, Jerusalem 9458104, is the controller of personal information described here. This notice is written for a print studio, not for a hospital, a bank, or an advertising network.

The law we work under

We process personal data in Israel under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981, and the regulations issued under it, including the duties that apply after Amendment 13 concerning databases, security, and the rights of data subjects. Where a commission involves a person in the European Economic Area, we treat the same information with equivalent care: only what the job requires, kept only as long as the job and ordinary bookkeeping require.

This atelier is not a credit bureau, not a clinic, and not a publisher of other people’s manuscripts. We hold what a printer must hold: names to set in type, delivery addresses, telephone numbers, and the text of documents you ask us to print.

What we collect

• Identity and contact details you send by email, telephone, or the commission form: name, email, phone, and postal address for proofs or finished sheets.
• Commission content: wording for stationery, broadsides, book plates, and ketubah clauses, including names of couples, parents, and witnesses when those names are to be printed.
• Practical notes: quantity, paper choice, ceremony dates, and collection or courier instructions.
• Invoices and receipts required for Israeli tax bookkeeping.
• A single browser preference on this website if you accept the cookie notice, so the overlay does not return on every page.

We do not buy mailing lists. We do not run advertising pixels. We do not ask for identity-card scans unless a courier or a legal requirement for a particular shipment makes it unavoidable, and then only for that shipment.

Why we use it

Personal information is used to compose type accurately, to send proofs, to deliver editions, to invoice, and to answer questions about a job in progress. Ketubah wording is used solely to print the sheet you commissioned; we do not publish it, exhibit it, or reuse names in sample work without a separate written permission.

The cookie preference is used only to remember that you dismissed or accepted the notice. It is not a tracking profile.

Where it is kept

Paper proofs and marked-up copy stay in the atelier until the edition is collected or posted, then are destroyed or returned if you ask. Digital mail lives in the studio mailbox at studio@jlmpress.pro. We do not upload commission files to public galleries. Standing type for a repeat stationery job is kept in the case only with your knowledge; otherwise the form is distributed after the run.

If a courier carries a parcel, they receive the name, address, and telephone number needed for that delivery — nothing of the ketubah text.

How long we keep it

Active job files remain until the sheets are delivered and any obvious correction window has passed. Invoices and the minimum records attached to them are kept for the periods required under Israeli bookkeeping rules. Sample sheets that do not show private names may be retained as press records. You may ask us to destroy extra copies of a personal document once the job is closed.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Privacy Law you may request access to personal information we hold about you, and correction of information that is wrong. You may object to use that is not required for a job you still want printed. To exercise these rights, write to studio@jlmpress.pro or visit the atelier during open hours with enough detail for us to find the file (name on the commission, approximate date).

You may also contact the Privacy Protection Authority at the Israel Ministry of Justice if you believe the law has not been respected. We would rather correct a name on a proof than receive a complaint after the edition is dry.

This is a static site. If you choose Accept, the browser stores a local preference named for this studio so the centred cookie card stays away on later visits. If you choose Not now or close the card, the overlay hides for that visit only. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded by these pages.

Children

We do not design this site for children and we do not knowingly take commission details from a child. A parent or guardian should write if a family stationery job involves a minor’s name on a card.

Changes

If our tools change — for example if we add a hosted form that actually transmits — we will revise this notice and the date below. The character of the studio will not: we remain a letterpress atelier on Bezalel Street, not a data business.
